We believe new thinking and action is needed to meet the huge challenge of providing an unprecedented volume of new housing in New Zealand, as well as improving the standard of our existing homes, at consistently lower cost.
Our view is that to get sustainably improved housing outcomes for New Zealanders, now and for the future, things need to change across the entire sector, from national and local government processes, banking & legal criteria, to industry participants, tradespeople and suppliers. We also believe that education requires significant real world learning components so that we can better cater for young people & immigrants seeking an exciting career in a rapidly growing industry.
We’ve set out from scratch to form an entirely new end-to-end business model. Building Innovation Group has been established with the goal of making a significant impact on the cost, constructibility, and durability of New Zealand homes, through well researched innovation.
We’re new and therefore free from restraint. Our sights are firmly set on using innovation, as per the intention of the New Zealand Building Act, to comply with the New Zealand building code, as opposed to using the minimum standard Acceptable Solutions enforced by BCA’s New Zealand wide. In doing so we raise the expectations of sustainably better homes for New Zealanders, for good.
Along the way we will challenge our business and the industry to evolve and continuously improve, as we play our part in New Zealand’s journey towards a better built future.
Whether you are looking for your first home or apartment, renovating or restoring lost value in your leaky home, a body corporate charged with finding a cost effective and fixed price design and build solution for leaking apartment complexes, or perhaps you are wanting to exploit the potential of your property under the new Auckland Unitary Plan, or maybe start a career in construction…whatever you are hoping to achieve, expect a big difference from us.
